DUNKIRK – Four people were honored Thursday for graduating from the Dunkirk Drug Treatment Court Program.
The event was held in the City Court building, where many of the participants applauded the long-term efforts of graduates who completed training, job development and treatment with local providers for drug and mental health issues.
City Judge Walter F. Drag conducted the ceremony. He has presided over the local treatment court for 10 years and has been part of the team effort to help people lead clean and sober lives.
Coordinator Lee Ann Lazarony presented an award to Court Officer Ken Sikorski for his support to participants and to members of the treatment team.
Sikorski has been a member of the Dunkirk Police Department for 35 years and has served the treatment court program since it started.
Participants were also recognized by Josie Christopher of the Circle of Love Group. She presented each of the graduates with a book and information about success.
