A West Seneca man was arrested for driving drunk early Saturday after he swerved out of his lane and almost struck a state police car, New York State Police officials reported Monday.

42-year-old Scott T. Scarcello of Briarhill Road was driving on Pleasantview Drive in the Town of Lancaster at about 3:25 a.m. when his Dodge Charger crossed the center line, nearly colliding with a patrol vehicle driven by Clarence state troopers.

After showing signs of intoxication and failing field sobriety tests, Scarcello submitted a breath sample and was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.13%. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lancaster Court on a later date.
