JAMESTOWN – The annual Snowball Express Holiday Parade gets underway at 6 p.m. Friday in Jamestown.
Ron Cotten, Veterans Memorial Commission chairman, will serve as grand marshal of the parade, which is sponsored by the Resource Center and Lutheran Social Services.
Sgt. 1st Class Keith Stam has been selected to sing the national anthem at Tracy Plaza. A Jamestown native, Stam is a 21-year veteran of the Army and served in Operation Just Cause in 1989 and Operation Provide Comfort during Desert Storm in 1990. He is a graduate of Cassadaga High School and currently lives in Jamestown, where he is employed by Matco Tools.
Other events include a concert by the Jamestown Harmony Express, a barbershop chorus.
The parade lines up at 5:30 p.m. The parade route along Third Street concludes at Tracy Plaza, where entertainment will continue until 8 p.m.
