LOCKPORT – A Lockport man who was categorized as a Level 3 sex offender, the highest category, was again charged for his alleged role in a sexually-related offense involving a child.

Sean P. McLaughlin, 42, of Glendale Drive was charged with endangering the welfare of a child on Wednesday for allegedly showing indecent material to a child under 16, according to the Niagara County Sheriff Department.. McLaughlin was arraigned in the Town of Lockport and released without bail on the misdemeanor charge. A return court date was set for Dec. 12.

He was convicted in 1994 of first-degree sexual abuse for having sexual contact and intercourse with an 8 year old boy on more than one occasion.

Sheriff James Voutour said their investigation was enhanced by tips on the New York State Sex Offender Registry.

The registry can be accessed at “sex offender management” on the www.niagarasheriff.com site.
