LOCKPORT – Steven H. Heylek, 31, of Eighth Street, Niagara Falls, was sentenced Wednesday to three to six years in state prison for burglarizing an apartment on his street June 10.
Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas said she hoped Heylek, who admitted to third-degree burglary, is assigned to Marcy Correctional Facility, which the judge said has a good program for treating offenders who combine mental health and substance abuse problems.
All the stolen property was recovered when police found plastic totes in Heylek’s apartment, full of about $1,200 worth of electronic items that Heylek said a friend gave him to sell.
