Thurman Thomas was appointed Friday To the New York State Tourism Advisory Council, where he’s expected to serve as vice chair.

The appointment is a two-year, unpaid position for the Hall of Fame running back.
“I am honored that Governor Cuomo has appointed me to the Tourism Advisory Council. I know how important it is to the governor that Buffalo and Western New York receive the proper representation and promotion. I look forward to making that happen,” Thomas said in a statement.
