LOCKPORT – The Lockport Board of Education may include a proposition on the sale of the closed Washington Hunt Elementary School on the May 20 district ballot, Deborah A. Coder, assistant superintendent for finance and management services, said last week.

Coder said the district has received interest from a buyer who is targeting the Rogers Avenue school, which was closed in June. “If it were detrimental to the neighborhood, we wouldn’t sell it,” she told reporters.

Another possible proposition would be the the authorization of a $10 million capital projects fund for the next 15 years. Coder said that’s not earmarked for any particular project.
