LOCKPORT – CATCO Corp. of Alden is expected to be awarded a contract to replace a bridge on Lockport Road in Wheatfield at the Feb. 18 meeting of the Niagara County Legislature.
The contract for the bridge over Bergholtz Creek just east of Hoover Road was approved by the Legislature’s Public Works Committee last week.
CATCO outbid six other companies with an offer of $492,527 for work to begin later this year.
Richard W. Eakin, deputy public works commissioner for engineering, said bids are expected in September for another major Lockport Road project, the addition of left-turn lanes at its intersections with Ward and Walmore roads and the repaving of the road in between. That work is expected to be performed in 2015.
