Several hundred children from Erie and Niagara counties will receive free dental care Friday as 50 Erie Community College dental hygiene students take part in the American Dental Association’s 12th annual Give Kids a Smile Day.
The program, which will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the offices of Just 4 Me Pediatric and Adolescent Dental Care, 1660 Hopkins Road, Amherst, is designed to bring treatment to disadvantaged youngsters, many of whom have never been to a dentist.
The ECC students will do cleanings and provide information about dental care. The students usually perform free services for adults at their clinic on ECC’s North Campus in Amherst, applying what they learn in the classroom.
