ALLEGANY – Friday is the deadline to register students for the two sessions of Rocket Camp this summer at St. Bonaventure University in the Dresser-Rand Challenger Learning Center.
Rocket Girls, which is open to girls who have completed at least fifth grade, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 8 to 12.
Rockets: The Way to Space, open to all students who have completed at least fifth grade, will take place from 9 a.m. to noon July 22 to 26.
In both camps, students will learn about rocket propulsion, first by building and racing carbon-dioxide-powered cars, then by building and launching solid-fuel rockets. The students also will fly a simulated mission to space titled “Rendezvous With Comet Halley.”
