The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is hosting a job fair today for veterans and military spouses. More than 60 employers, ranging from bigger businesses to small companies, are seeking workers of all ranks and level of experience.
The event, titled “Hiring Our Heroes – Buffalo,” will also feature a workshop focusing on job interview techniques and resumé writing and building.
The national program was launched in March 2011 and has helped more than 100,000 veterans and military spouses find employment. More than 540 hiring fairs have been held and account for about 18,400 of the total 100,000 hired through the organization.
Hiring Our Heroes runs from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Connecticut Street Armory, 184 Connecticut St. Job seekers can register for free online or enter on a walk-in basis, with proof of service.
