NIAGARA FALLS – “The Architecture of the Historic Village of LaSalle” is the topic of a lecture sponsored by the Niagara Falls Historic Preservation Society at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the second-floor auditorium of the LaSalle Library, 8727 Buffalo Ave. It’s free and open to the public.
The presentation by LaSalle historian Teresa Lasher Winslow, chairwoman of the history organization LaSalle PRIDE Inc., will include the Evershed area, the International Paper Co. houses, tourist cabins and motels, World War II housing and Griffon Manor. LaSalle, chartered as a village in 1897, was annexed by Niagara Falls in 1927.
The program is the second of three lectures sponsored by the Niagara Falls Historic Preservation Society. The third is scheduled for March 25 in the Main Branch of the Niagara Falls Public Library, 1425 Main St., and will concentrate on historic buildings in the downtown area.
