Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon and Urban Valet Dry Cleaners are conducting their fifth annual prom dress drive.
Gowns are being collected through March 21 and will be made available to local high school girls who are in need of a dress for prom or special occasion. All donated gowns will be professionally cleaned, free of charge, by Urban Valet.
Donors can drop off new or gently used dresses at any of the following locations: Blasdell Village Hall, 121 Miriam Ave.; Boston Free Library, 9475 Boston State Road; Dudley Branch Library, 2010 South Park Ave.; Eden Boys & Girls Club, 8284 North Main St.; Erie County Legislature, 92 Franklin St., Fourth Floor; Hamburg Village Hall, 100 Main St.; Lackawanna Public Library, 560 Ridge Road; Lake Shore Boys & Girls Club, 42 Sunset Boulevard, Angola; Lake Shore Branch Library, S. 4857 Lake Shore Road, Hamburg; and Urban Valet Cleaners at 106 Evans St., Hamburg; 4081 North Buffalo Road, Orchard Park; and 620 Elmwood Ave.
After the dresses have been collected and cleaned. Dixon will host a free shopping event at Performing Arts Dance Academy in Hamburg, inviting area high school girls to come and “shop” for a dress for the prom. Times, dates and locations will be announced soon.
