BATAVIA – A 21-year-old Rochester man already charged with a series of house burglaries in the Batavia area was charged by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office today with the theft of handguns, cash, jewelry and other property last Dec. 27 from a home on Tinkham Road in Darien.
Shaumyk Santiango, also known as Antonio Santiago, faces further proceedings on that case March 31 in Darien Town Court. He and Juan Beltran, 36, also Rochester, were arrested earlier this week by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation of the New York State Police on a number of felony burglary charges linked to the recovery recently at Rochester area pawn shops of some property they are accused of stealing in recent house burglaries.
