The last of nine defendants arrested in 2012 in a crackdown on a family-run drug ring on Buffalo’s East Side has been sentenced, U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. announced Thursday.
Leo C. Mellerson, 31, boyfriend of a daughter of ringleader Theresa Anderson, was sent to prison for 15 months by U.S. District Court Judge Richard J. Arcara. He had been convicted of selling crack cocaine and conspiracy to sell it.
Prosecutors said Mellerson sold crack to an undercover police officer twice in October 2011.
Anderson was sentenced to 188 months in prison last November. Those convicted included five of her children and grandchildren, her husband and two of her daughters’ boyfriends.
