LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls man pleaded guilty to a cocaine possession charge Monday as part of a plea deal that saw charges dismissed against his father.

Levester Rose III, 36, of Dudley Avenue, is to be sentenced to 4 1/2 years in state prison and three years of post-release supervision, Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas announced. The sentence will be made official June 27.

Rose and his father Levester Rose Jr., 65, were arrested May 20 in a Whitney Avenue traffic stop. Police said they found one-third ounce of cocaine in the auto. A second drug indictment against Levester III, stemming from a drug find when he was picked up on a bench warrant after skipping a court date, also is to be dismissed.

The younger Rose will have to forfeit a total of $2,717 police confiscated from him in the two arrests.
