The Amherst Planning Board has given the go-ahead for an expansion to Boulevard Consumer Square on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst.
The Planning Board on Thursday approved site plans for four building additions totaling more than 42,000 square feet of new retail space at the sprawling “open-air” shopping center, located between Ridge Lea and Romney roads.
Plans by Benderson Development Co. include: a 4,403-square-foot expansion on the east side of the existing Old Navy; a 12,373-square-foot expansion behind the existing Pet Smart; a 10,000-square-foot addition to the Bed, Bath and Beyond store; and a 15,945-square-foot expansion to the rear of the existing Hallmark and Babies R Us building.
The expansion will accommodate new tenants, including a new national retailer in the Buffalo market, but those businesses have not been publicly identified yet.
