Beechwood Homes and Hospice Buffalo on Tuesday will partner to open The Hospice Wells House at the Beechwood Continuing Care Campus in Getzville.
The aim of the service at Beechwood Homes is to offer more individuals with serious illness skilled nursing hospice care.
“Beechwood Continuing Care has had a long-standing partnership with Hospice going back to 1992, when Beechwood was the first nursing home to join Hospice’s newly created nursing home program,” Daniel O’Neill, president and chief executive officer of Beechwood Continuing Care, said in a statement.
He said Wells House consists of 22 private rooms where patients in the advanced stages of illness can receive palliative, or comfort-based, care.
Hospice Wells House features earth-tone colors, art deco furniture, a country kitchen, dining room and living room with a fireplace. A four-season porch and entertainment center are located within the residence.
