A Buffalo man pleaded guilty to bank fraud before U.S. District Court Judge Richard J. Arcara and faces a mandatory prison term of 30 years.

Avery Gill, 56, of Buffalo, also faces five years of post-release supervision and a possible fine of up to $1 million when he is sentenced at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 28. Assistant U.S. Attorney Marie P. Grisanti said Gill and others schemed to cheat Capital One Bank out of almost $430,000 between September 2012 and March 2013 by applying for bank credit cards using the names and personal identification information of two others. Gill purchased merchandise and gift cards from stores and made ATM weithdrawals using the credit cards.
