PORTER – A Niagara Falls man faces drunken driving and other charge after driving hitting several mailboxes on Riverview Drive about 3 a.m. Thursday, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies said.
An intoxicated passenger also was jailed for resisting arrest, while another was evaluated for severe intoxication.
Deputies aid John B. Semrau Jr., 23, of Niagara Falls Boulevard led them on a brief foot chase after leaving his vehicle and fleeing on foot. Semrau, who was captured by Lewiston police, was charged with driving while intoxicated and three counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Anthony M. Safee, 20, of Hennepin Avenue, Niagara Falls, was charged with resisting arrest for allegedly fighting with officers at the scene. An ambulance was called for another passenger described as severely intoxicated.
