The Ambulatory Services Center of WCA Hospital in Jamestown is now using a new mobile bladder scanner to improve patient care, thanks to a $9,800 grant from the Holmberg Foundation.
The scanner allows the center to reduce catheterizations in assessing patients with bladder issues, which brings down the risk of urinary tract infections. The bladder scanner takes just one or two minutes, verses a catheterization procedure that can last for up to 20 minutes.
