A community reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the Hulbert Library of the Town of Concord for Annette M. Gernatt, who is retiring after 30 years of service.
Gernatt joined the staff of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library in 1966 as a clerk-typist for the Bookmobile.
She became library director in Concord in 1983, received her master’s degree in library science in 1997 and received a community service award from American Legion Post 431 in 1999. Having seen many advances over the years in the way libraries provide access to information, Gernatt said she most enjoys introducing children to reading through story times and special programs.
The reception will take place at the library, 18 Chapel St., Springville.
