“Refuse to Be a Victim,” a program that offers tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of crime, will be presented at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Frank E. Merriweather Jr. Library auditorium.
The program will cover such topics as how to secure doors and windows to make homes more burglar-proof, how children should be taught to answer the phone to prevent callers from knowing that kids are home alone, how to establish a “safe room” in the home in case someone breaks in and how to minimize the chances of being attacked when walking on the street.
The free program is being presented by the Dorie Miller Rifle & Pistol Club.
