Town of Tonawanda police today urged the public to use caution when buying and selling items on Craigslist after three victims reported being robbed last week of their items at arranged meetings.
The suspect called the victims, set up a time and place to purchase what they posted on Craigslist then robbed them of their property, which included an X-box, iPad and computer, the department said in a post on its Facebook page.
The suspect is described as a male, 6 feet one inch tall, 24 to 30 years old with no facial hair or visible tattoos. He displayed a black handgun and has used the names “Calvin” and “Derrick” when setting up the meetings, according to police.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at (716) 876-5300 or the department’s confidential TIPCALL Line at (716) 879-6606.
