NIAGARA FALLS – A deadbolt lock requiring the use of a key apparently thwarted a would-be burglar at a Cleveland Avenue residence late last week, police said.
An upstairs resident at the building told police she heard glass breaking around 11:30 p.m. Friday and saw the window in a side door broken, with a brick laying on the ground nearby.
Police believe the man broke the window with the intention of reaching inside to unlock the door, but was foiled by the deadbolt and he fled. Nothing was stolen in the incident.
