Leg and back injuries suffered by Beaver Island State Park maintenance supervisor Edward Krecisz, 45, are expected to keep him out of work for the next week or so, Kevin Koch, chief of the Grand Island Fire Company reported Monday.
After Krecisz was accidently struck by the bucket of a high-lift at about 11 a.m. Friday, he was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries by Grand Island Fire Company medics before being taken to Erie County Medical Center for further treatment. He is now recuperating at home.
A 12-year-member of the Grand Island Fire Company, Krecisz was injured when he was out of the view of the high-lift operator near the park’s maintenance building, Koch said.
