LOCKPORT – A man who was charged with selling crack cocaine to a police informant twice last summer pleaded guilty Wednesday and was assigned to the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment by State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr.

Kevon L. Sykes, 23, of Caledonia Street, Lockport, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance to settle an indictment that accused him of crack sales on July 2 and 12 in the City of Lockport. He risks a prison term of up to nine years if he fails in treatment.

Sykes was shot in the foot Nov. 16 at Pine and Genesee streets in Lockport, a shooting which remains unsolved.
