Carl Paladino, the real estate developer who is also the Park District member of the Buffalo School Board, has purchased the former Holy Angels Academy on Hertel Avenue.
Paladino submitted the high bid of $2.9 million at an auction this morning at the school, which closed in the spring because of declining enrollment.
The school sits on 5.37 acres in North Buffalo.
Although Paladino would not say what he intends to do with the property, the school and property had been considered a prime location for housing development.
However, Paladino has also been involved in charter school projects in the city.
